The reason I like these movies is because they are animated. Half are from my childhood, and the others are mainly Japanese animation films that I got into later in life. The genres range from fantastical to action, romance, and drama. I enjoy watching animated movies more because they offer a different type of immersiveness, and I love seeing various art styles come to life. If I had to choose my ultimate favorite out of these twelve, it would be Ponyo because of nostalgia bias, and I’m pretty sure it was my first introduction to Japanese films. hi
